We are happy to announce that we have recently published a new article as part of a special issue on Neural Networks and Cognition in the journal Frontiers in Cognition.

In this manuscript, we used a large, public dataset with participants aged 18-88 and tested how aspects of hippocampal function differed across the adult lifespan. Some prior work has suggested that there may be a gradient within this structure in terms of the signal properties and the kinds of memories that can be supported. Here, we tested whether those properties are consistent across the lifespan. We found that the gradient within the hippocampus did change with older age, but that those changes were not strongly related to memory performance.

See here for full details of the study and look for a future video on the results!
