We are happy to announce that our recent study, Study choices and inference in an acquired equivalence task, has been accepted for publication in the journal Cognition. In this study, we examined how healthy young adults behaved when given the chance to make choices about what information to re-study after an initial learning phase. What's more, the study materials were a little unusual because there were relationships between items that participants could infer. We wondered whether participants would detect the relationships among study items and try to confirm them during the study phase. The results were not what we were expecting!
Here is a link to the full paper, and look out for a video summary of the findings in the coming months!
