Black LGBTQ+ elders event

The Student Gerontology Association (SGA) in partnership with the Helen Bader Applied Gerontology program and UWM's LGBTQ+ Resource Center hosted an event this week in honor of LGBTQ+ elders in the Milwaukee community. CABI lab members Cara Charles, Sadie Rockette, and Kana Kimura all serve in leadership positions in SGA and helped organize the event. It was a smashing success! A panel of Black LGBTQ+ individuals from Milwaukee shared their thoughts about how their different identities have impacted their experience here and how things have changed over the years.
